Connecting Questions in Branching Videos

Creating Dynamic Viewer Experiences with Interactive Video Branching in Cinema8

When creating interactive videos in Cinema8, you can link multiple videos together using the Storyflow feature. By inserting questions between segments, you give viewers control over the path they take—making each experience uniquely personal.

Use branching to guide viewers through customized scenarios based on their answers. Ideal for training, e-learning, and marketing journeys.

How to Connect Questions Between Videos

Step 1: Access Storyflow Editor

Hover over your interactive video in the dashboard and click the three-dot menu. Select Quick-Start Dashboard or go directly to Design Video Branching.

Step 2: Edit Video Details (Optional)

Click on Edit Video Info to update project metadata like name, description, or thumbnail.

Step 3: Open the Branching Designer

Use the Design Video Branching button to launch the visual editor. Here, you’ll see all videos and how they’re connected.

Step 4: Add Questions as Decision Points

Click the “+” button on a video node and choose Question. You can create:

  • Single-select or multi-select questions
  • Define answers and connect each one to different video segments

Step 5: Configure Branching Logic

Connect answers to the relevant next videos. These connections determine how viewers navigate through the content.

Step 6: Use Navigation Tools

Inside the editor, you can:

  • Zoom in/out or fullscreen the canvas
  • Lock elements in place
  • Change the line style between segments
  • Use the Preview button to simulate the full branching experience
