Captions enhance the accessibility of your videos and improve viewer comprehension. With Cinema8’s Subtitle Editor, you can easily add, sync, and style subtitles—either manually or by uploading existing files.


Accessing the Subtitle Editor

Step 1: Open Your Video

  • Go to My Videos on your Cinema8 dashboard.
  • Select a video and click Edit Video.

Step 2: Launch the Subtitle Editor

  • Click on Add Subtitles in the editor to open the Subtitle Editor interface.

Adding Captions

Manual Entry

  • Click Add New Caption.
  • Enter your subtitle text.
  • Use the timeline to set precise start and end times.

Uploading a Subtitle File

  • Click Upload Subtitle File and select a .SRT or .VTT file.
  • Once uploaded, you can preview and fine-tune the timing for accuracy.

Editing Subtitles

  • Click on any subtitle block to edit text.
  • Drag or adjust the timeline handles to resync timing.
  • Use the Preview function to check alignment with the video.

Customizing Subtitle Appearance

  • Change font size, style, and color.
  • Adjust background opacity for readability.
  • Choose the position of subtitles on the screen (e.g., bottom center, top left).

Saving and Exporting

  • Click Save to apply your changes.
  • Optionally, export your subtitles as .SRT or .VTT files for use elsewhere.
