Creating and Animating Creative Fonts

Creative and animated fonts help your videos stand out. Whether you’re highlighting key messages, displaying speaker names, or reinforcing your brand style, Cinema8 makes it easy to animate text using ready-made widgets—no design experience required.

How to Add and Animate Creative Fonts

Step 1: Add a Text Widget

  • Open your video in Cinema8 Creative Studio.
  • Go to the Elements Panel and drag the Widget Element onto the timeline.
  • From the Widget Library, choose a text-based widget, such as:
    • Text Effect — For animated titles or headers
    • Call-to-Action (CTA) — For text-based prompts
    • Lower Third — For speaker names or event tags
    • Transform/Transition — For text emphasis or animated transitions

Step 2: Customise Your Font and Content

  • Click the widget and open the Properties Panel.
  • Update the text content to match your message.
  • Adjust font settings:
    • Font type — Choose from Cinema8’s library or upload your own
    • Font size and color — Match your brand style
    • Styling options — Add bold, italic, underline, or shadows

Step 3: Animate the Text

  • In the Properties Panel, set:
    • Entry Animation — e.g. fade-in, slide-in, zoom
    • Exit Animation — e.g. fade-out, slide-out
  • Adjust timing:
    • Define the start and end points for when the text appears
    • Set the animation duration to control speed
  • Use the Preview mode to review your animation

Best Practices for Creative Font Use

💡 Pro Tip: Use subtle animations and clean fonts to enhance, not distract from, your message.

  • Ensure readability — Avoid overly decorative fonts
  • Animate purposefully — Use movement to draw attention, not overwhelm
  • Stay on brand — Match your text styles to your brand’s tone and color palette
  • Test different styles — Use A/B testing or feedback to refine your visual approach
