Adding Subtitles to Your Video

Subtitles enhance accessibility, comprehension, and viewer retention. With Cinema8, you can add subtitles using manual input, file uploads, or automatic AI-powered generation.

How to Add Subtitles

Step 1: Open Your Project

For new videos: Click New Video on your dashboard to begin a new project.
For existing videos: Go to My Videos, select a video, and click Add Interactivity to launch the Cinema8 Studio.

Step 2: Access the Subtitles Tool

In the Studio interface, locate the Quick Tools section.
Click Add Subtitles to open the subtitle editor.

Manual Entry

Select your desired language before adding subtitles.
Type your captions directly into the editor.
Use the timeline to sync text with video playback.

Upload a Subtitle File

Upload an existing .SRT file to import subtitles.
Review and fine-tune the timing as needed using the timeline.

💡 Tip: Use short, readable subtitle lines and ensure they appear long enough for users to comfortably read.

Using AI-Generated Subtitles

If you’re on the Starter Plan or higher, you can let AI handle subtitle creation:

Enable Auto-Subtitle Generation in the Subtitle Editor.
Cinema8 will generate captions in over 100 languages.
Review and adjust the subtitles for accuracy before saving.
