Adding Subtitles to Your Video
Subtitles enhance accessibility, comprehension, and viewer retention. With Cinema8, you can add subtitles using manual input, file uploads, or automatic AI-powered generation.
How to Add Subtitles
Step 1: Open Your Project
- For new videos: Click New Video on your dashboard to begin a new project.
- For existing videos: Go to My Videos, select a video, and click Add Interactivity to launch the Cinema8 Studio.
Step 2: Access the Subtitles Tool
- In the Studio interface, locate the Quick Tools section.
- Click Add Subtitles to open the subtitle editor.

Manual Entry
- Select your desired language before adding subtitles.
- Type your captions directly into the editor.
- Use the timeline to sync text with video playback.
Upload a Subtitle File
- Upload an existing
.SRT
file to import subtitles. - Review and fine-tune the timing as needed using the timeline.
💡 Tip: Use short, readable subtitle lines and ensure they appear long enough for users to comfortably read.
Using AI-Generated Subtitles
If you’re on the Starter Plan or higher, you can let AI handle subtitle creation:
- Enable Auto-Subtitle Generation in the Subtitle Editor.
- Cinema8 will generate captions in over 100 languages.
- Review and adjust the subtitles for accuracy before saving.
