How do I track my live stream performance?

After your live stream ends, you can use the Analytics tab to review audience and engagement data from your event. Cinema8 shows viewing metrics alongside activity from features such as Comments, polls, and Q&A.

Open your live stream analytics

Open the live event you want to review and select the Analytics tab.

At the top of the page, you can see a summary of your event performance, including:

  • Peak viewers: The peak viewer count recorded for your live event.
  • Duration: The duration of your live broadcast.
  • Avg watch (Cinema8): The average amount of time viewers watched through Cinema8.
  • Chat msg: The number of Comments sent during the event.
  • Poll votes: The total number of votes submitted through polls.

View audience activity over time

The Viewers over time chart shows how your viewer count changed throughout the live stream.

Use the timeline to see how your audience changed at different points during the broadcast.

Review poll results

If you launched polls during your live stream, the Polls section shows how your audience responded.

For each poll, you can see:

  • The total number of votes.
  • The number of votes for each answer.
  • The percentage of votes received by each answer.

Polls are part of the Cinema8 watch-page experience and are available on Live Scale and Live Enterprise plans.

Review Q&A activity

The Q&A section shows the questions submitted during your live stream.

You can see how many questions were:

  • Submitted.
  • Pending.
  • Approved.
  • Answered.

You can also review individual questions and answers, along with the number of upvotes received.

Q&A is also available through the Cinema8 watch page on Live Scale and Live Enterprise plans.

View your replay and VOD analytics

If recording was enabled and your recording has finished processing, a Replay available section appears in the event analytics.

From here, you can:

  • Select Watch replay to open the recorded broadcast.
  • Select VOD analytics to view analytics for the recorded video.
  • Select Open video details to open the recording in Cinema8.

The recording is also added to your Cinema8 video library as an editable video. The replay uses the same watch-page link that viewers used for the live event.

What happens next?

Once you’ve reviewed your live stream performance, you can use the event analytics to understand how viewers watched and interacted with your broadcast.
