How do I get attendees to join my live stream?

Attendees can join your live stream through the Cinema8 watch page or through an external platform you are broadcasting to, such as YouTube, Twitch, Kick, or Facebook.

If you’re using the Cinema8 watch page, attendees can join directly from the watch-page link without a Cinema8 account or login. The same link works before, during, and after the event.

The Cinema8 watch page is available on Live Scale and Live Enterprise plans.

Send attendees the link to your Cinema8 watch page through your usual event communications, such as invitations, confirmation emails, or calendar invites.

The same link works before and during the live stream, so you do not need to send attendees a different link when the broadcast begins.

Step 2: Attendees open the watch page

Attendees can open the link directly in their browser without signing in to Cinema8.

Before the live stream begins, the watch page displays a countdown to the scheduled start time. Attendees can open the link before the event starts and wait for the broadcast to begin.

Step 3: Attendees watch the live stream

Once you select Go live, the broadcast appears on the same watch page.

If audience features are enabled, attendees can also use:

  • Comments to participate in the live conversation.
  • Q&A to submit questions.
  • Polls to respond to questions during the event.

Comments, Q&A, and polls are available on Live Scale and Live Enterprise plans.

When are attendees asked for their name?

Attendees can open the watch page and watch the live stream without providing a name or creating a Cinema8 account.

If they want to participate, Cinema8 asks them to provide a name the first time they send something, such as a comment or question.

What if I’m streaming to an external platform?

If you’re broadcasting to YouTube, Twitch, Kick, or Facebook, attendees can watch through that platform using the link for your live broadcast.

Cinema8 watch-page features, including Comments, Q&A, and polls, are available to attendees watching through the Cinema8 watch page only.

What happens after the live stream?

If recording was enabled, the same Cinema8 watch-page link becomes the replay link once the recording has been processed.

Attendees can return to the link they originally received rather than needing a separate replay URL.

What happens next?

Once attendees know how to join, you can prepare your speakers and other guests before the broadcast begins.
