How do I share my live stream with viewers?
You can share your live stream with viewers through the Cinema8 watch page or broadcast it to external destinations such as YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and Facebook. The sharing options available depend on your Live plan and the destinations you selected when setting up your live stream.
Share the Cinema8 watch page
The Cinema8 watch page is available on Live Scale and Live Enterprise plans. It gives your audience a single link they can use before, during, and after your live stream.
The same link works throughout the event:
- Before the broadcast: Viewers see the event countdown.
- During the broadcast: Viewers can watch the live stream and use enabled audience features.
- After the broadcast: If recording was enabled, the same link becomes the replay link once the recording has been processed.
Viewers do not need a Cinema8 account or login to access the watch page. They’re only asked for a name when they first interact with the event.
Share your stream through external destinations
If you’ve added external destinations to your event, Cinema8 sends your broadcast to each enabled destination when you go live.
Supported external destinations include:
- YouTube
- Twitch
- Kick
- Custom RTMP (Basic plan and above)
For connected platforms such as YouTube, Cinema8 creates the broadcast on the destination for you. You don’t need to copy stream keys between Cinema8 and supported connected platforms. Custom RTMP uses an RTMP URL and stream key.
You can configure multiple destinations for the same event if your Live plan supports multistreaming.
Share your watch page before the event
You can share the Cinema8 watch page link with attendees before your scheduled broadcast begins. The link remains the same when your event goes live, so attendees do not need a new URL when the broadcast starts.
If recording is enabled, you also do not need to send attendees a separate replay link after the event. Once the recording has been processed, the replay is published to the same watch page.
What happens next?
Once your live stream is underway, you can control the broadcast, manage guests, update your stage, and manage your destinations from the Cinema8 Studio.
