How do I use the Greenroom?

The Greenroom gives speakers time to join and prepare before a scheduled live event. You can choose how early guests are allowed to join when setting up your event.

Step 1: Enable the Greenroom

When creating or editing your live event, turn on Greenroom.

Set how many minutes before the scheduled start time you want invited guests to be able to join.

Step 2: Invite your guests

Send each speaker their guest invitation link. Guests can open the link in their browser without creating a Cinema8 account or installing software.

Guest links remain valid for seven days.

Step 3: Guests join before the event

Once the Greenroom opens, invited guests can use their link to join ahead of the scheduled start time.

Before entering the Studio, each guest can preview their camera, check their microphone, and enter their display name and headline.

Step 4: Prepare guests before bringing them on stage

Guests remain backstage until you promote them to the stage.

Backstage guests cannot be seen or heard by the audience. They also cannot see or hear other backstage guests until they are promoted to the stage.

When a guest is ready to appear in the broadcast, use the People panel to promote them to the stage.

What happens next?

Once your speakers are prepared, you can use Cinema8’s audience features to interact with attendees during the broadcast.
