How do I engage with attendees during the live stream?

If you’re broadcasting through a Cinema8 watch page, you can use Comments, Q&A, and polls to engage with attendees while your event is live.

Use Comments for live conversation

Comments let attendees send messages while watching your live stream.

When an attendee sends something for the first time, Cinema8 asks them to provide a name. They do not need to create a Cinema8 account.

Manage attendee questions with Q&A

Use Q&A when you want attendees to submit questions separately from the live conversation.

Submitted questions can be moderated before they are shown to the audience. From the Q&A controls, you can:

  • Review pending questions.
  • Approve questions.
  • Answer questions.
  • Pin a question.
  • Hide a question.
  • Delete a question.

When you answer a question, the answer appears underneath the question on the watch page.

Run polls during the live stream

Polls let you ask attendees questions and collect responses during the broadcast.

You can:

  • Allow attendees to select more than one answer.
  • Set a timer to close a poll automatically.
  • Prepare a poll as a draft or open it immediately.
  • View results while the poll is open.

Attendees can see live results and the countdown when a timer is being used.

See how many attendees are watching

The Cinema8 watch page displays the current number of viewers next to the LIVE indicator.

This count reflects viewers watching through the Cinema8 watch page as well as viewers watching your broadcast through external destinations such as YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and Facebook.

What happens next?

When the live stream ends, you can manage the recording, replay, and other post-event content.
