Creating Channels and Playlists in Cinema8

Cinema8 allows you to organise your video content into structured, branded environments using channels and playlists. Channels act as themed hubs for your content, while playlists help you group videos in a specific sequence or purpose.

This guide walks you through setting up both.

Creating a Channel

Step 1: Access the Channels Panel

  • Log in to your Cinema8 Dashboard.
  • Navigate to My Channels from the main menu.
  • Click Add New Channel.

Step 2: Enter Basic Channel Info

  • Provide a Channel Name (up to 50 characters).
  • Create a unique Handle (e.g. @MyChannel) using letters and numbers.
  • Write a brief Description explaining the channel’s content or purpose.

Step 3: Apply Branding

  • Upload a Profile Picture (98×98 pixels, under 4MB).
  • Add a Banner Image (2048×1152 pixels, under 6MB).
  • Use visuals that align with your brand guidelines for consistency.

Step 4: Create the Channel

  • Review your information.
  • Click Create to publish your new channel.
  • You’ll now find the channel under My Channels, ready to add videos or playlists.

Creating a Playlist

Step 1: Navigate to the Playlist Manager

  • Inside a channel, locate the Playlists tab.
  • Click Add New Playlist.

Step 2: Set Playlist Details

  • Give your playlist a clear title.
  • Optionally add a description to explain the video sequence or theme.
  • Choose whether the playlist is public, private, or password-protected.

Step 3: Add Videos to the Playlist

  • Select videos from your library or existing channel content.
  • Drag and drop to reorder the playlist sequence.

Step 4: Save and Manage

  • Click Save to finalise your playlist.
  • You can edit, reorder, or remove videos from the playlist at any time.

📺 Pro Tip: Use playlists to structure learning paths, feature product walkthroughs, or group campaign-specific content in a focused format.

Organising your content into channels and playlists enhances discoverability, delivers a better viewer experience, and helps your team maintain clarity across content categories.
